Service Description

Find ghosts of London's monastic past, a lost guild of knights, tributes to brave children, a memorial to the slave trade, a dog's tomb, a homage to Samuel Pepys, architecture ancient and modern and beautiful churchyards hidden among the City of London's office blocks and skyscrapers. "This was a masterful insight into a part of London steeped in history!" The City has 376 open spaces tucked away, including gardens, churchyards, former churches and cemeteries, bomb sites, green spaces and paved terraces. In total, 10% of the Square Mile consists of open spaces. Often invisible from the busy streets until you know where to look, they offer hidden history, beauty and calm. The walk lasts approximately two hours. Please be prepared for all weather conditions! Start: outside Liverpool Street station, the entrance on Liverpool Street (not Bishopsgate), next to McDonald's Finish: A few minutes' walk from Tower Hill and Monument tube stations and Fenchurch Street railway station "Excellent walk!
